Amitabh Bachchan talks about Sachin Tendulkar!: For yet one more time, India’s batting genius Sachin Tendulkar has created cricket history by becoming the only player to have hit 50 centuries. He has been showered with praises from Bollywood.
Taking the lead in heaping praise on the little master is Big B, Amitabh Bachchan. The superstar is miffed with repeated comparisons between Sachin and the Aussie cricketing legend Sir Don Bradman.
“Why must there be a debate or even a discussion on whether Sachin is greater than Don Bradman or not? Sachin is greater, period! By bringing the topic up for debate you are somewhere unsure whether he really is deserving of being great or not.
And this is objectionable to me,” Amitabh wrote on his blog while praising Tendulkar’s achievement.
Big B also slammed the typical Indian attitude of comparing our heroes, be it in sports, films, or any other field, to those of the west.
“Why do we always want to describe our achievement or subject with a comparison from the West. Alright, the West is far developed than us, is richer materially, advanced and secure. So how does this give us the need to comment that they are superior. Or that the best comes from there and not here,” the 68-year-old superstar wrote.
